Laboratory Medicine
Lahey’s Department of Laboratory Medicine supports patient care through comprehensive clinical testing and analysis. Services include blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and blood drawing (phlebotomy).
Our laboratories provide essential diagnostic testing for patients across the Lahey system and other regional healthcare providers.
Blood Donation Awareness Campaign
Lahey Hospital & Medical Center partners with the American Red Cross Blood Services – New England Region to promote the ongoing need for blood and platelet donors. Each year, more than 15,000 units of blood, platelets, and other components are transfused at Lahey.
Blood products cannot be manufactured — donations from healthy individuals are the only source. Many people who have never donated say it's because they’ve never been asked. Well, consider yourself asked.
For more information or to find a nearby Red Cross donor center or blood drive, visit the American Red Cross Blood Services – New England Region website.
