Sarcoidosis Program

Sarcoidosis Evaluation and Treatment

The Advanced Heart Failure team at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) provides specialty evaluations and treatments for patients with sarcoidosis, a condition where small collections of inflammatory cells (called granulomas) form in the lungs, lymph nodes, skin, eyes, heart or other organs.

Sarcoidosis can be treated, however, achieving the correct diagnosis is a critical first step in the management of sarcoidosis.

Team Approach to Sarcoidosis Care

Our specialists evaluate patients and determine the most appropriate testing and course of treatment. This plan is always reviewed by a multidisciplinary team, which includes:

  • Cardiologists
  • Neurologists
  • Ophthalmologists
  • Pulmonologists
  • Rheumatologists
  • Radiologists and Cardiac Imaging Experts

Sarcoidosis can be a complex medical condition, and LHMC is one of only a few medical centers that offers this specialized type of multidisciplinary approach.

Our team discusses diagnosis and disease management for each patient. These meetings bring together many specialists who can personalize the best treatment plan for you.
