Simulation Fellowship

Fellowship in Simulation and Professional Education

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is proud to offer a fully funded, American College of Surgeons (ACS)-Accredited Fellowship in Simulation Education and Research. This fellowship will train expert educators who can leverage simulation to its full potential in health professions education.

Medical education is evolving and our ability to keep up with the latest developments and apply best practices depends on developing and promoting educational expertise in the medical education community. This fellowship meets these goals by providing the fellow with multimodal learning opportunities which include classroom, experiential and research-based approaches covering key topics in health professions education. Fellows will spend one year working and learning in the Simulation Center under the supervision of experienced faculty who will teach classes, supervise simulation courses and mentor new and ongoing research projects.

The fellow will be on-site at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center 40 hours per week and will be available to assist, learn, and teach in all courses offered at the simulation center and affiliated sites. The fellow will participate in weekly meetings with their fellowship director, as well as staff, operations and steering committee meetings. The fellow will participate in and lead research projects with mentorship from faculty and staff at the medical center. They will present their research at outside venues, including the annual American College of Surgeons Simulation Summit, annual Lahey Postgraduate Recognition Day and other national and regional education-related meetings. They will also be expected to submit their work for publication. There are no clinical responsibilities associated with this fellowship.
