We use the following tests to help diagnose and monitor vascular disorders:

Vascular ultrasound testing: We use many noninvasive tests to help diagnose and monitor vascular diseases and disorders including:
- Aneurysmal diseases
- Carotid stenosis (narrowing)
- Peripheral arterial diseases
- Venous insufficiency
- Venous thrombosis
Peripheral angiography: A test that uses a special dye and X-rays to detect blood vessel narrowing or blockages in the arms or legs.

Treatments We Offer

Vascular treatments we offer at Lahey include:

Atherectomy: a treatment that uses a thin, flexible tube (catheter) with a rotating blade on its tip to restore blood flow in blocked blood vessels
Balloon angioplasty: a treatment that uses a catheter with a balloon on its tip to restore blood flow in blocked blood vessels
Catheter-based treatments for pulmonary embolism and severe DVT: treatment to remove clots from blood vessels
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI): a procedure performed by interventional cardiologists that uses balloon angioplasty and stents to open a blocked heart artery
Sclerotherapy: a treatment for symptomatic varicose veins that involves injecting a solution into the vein
Stenting: placement of a metal mesh tube in a blood vessel to help keep it open
Varicose vein ablation: use of heat or energy to treat varicose veins causing severe symptoms such as bleeding, ulcers or skin infection
Venous stenting: placement of a stent to hold a blocked vein open in select patients, including those with May-Thurner syndrome
