Menopause Care

Compassionate care from women’s health experts

Menopause Care

At Lahey Clinic, we know that going through menopause is more than just the end of your monthly period. It causes the commonly discussed hot flashes/night sweats but also effects heart health, bone health and beyond. With our team of experts, including NAMs certified providers, we are here to answer all of your perimenopause/menopause questions.

Symptoms

Commonly reported symptoms of perimenopause/menopause include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, brain fog, fatigue, mood swings, weight gain and many more. If you are experiencing these, you are far from alone. However, we know that everyone's journey through this time of life is different, so everyone's treatment plan may be different as well. At Lahey Clinic, we work with each of our patients to make a plan to target your specific concerns.

Treatment

The most commonly discussed treatment for menopausal symptoms is hormone therapy. This is when you take estrogen and progesterone (estrogen only if you do not have a uterus). This works great for a lot of people. However, it is not for everyone or every symptom. This is why it is important to see providers who are familiar with the most up to date research and treatments for menopausal symptoms. If you are interested in learning what treatments are best for you or if you are just interested in having a conversation of what to expect in the years to come, please schedule an appointment.
