For too many years, heart disease, or coronary artery disease, has been viewed primarily as a man's issue. In reality, heart disease kills more women annually than it does men. In fact, according to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the #1 killer of women,surpassing all forms of cancer combined. And unfortunately, 64 percent of women who die suddenly because of coronary artery disease had no previous symptoms.
But it doesn't have to be this way. Heart disease can often be prevented, or treated once detected.
